All-vegan grocery stores have become less of a fantasy and more of a reality over the past couple of years, and we’re here for it! Already a neighborhood favorite in Tampa, Black Radish Grocer is continuing that trend and opening a second location in St. Petersburg this fall.
Black Radish Grocer
After opening the doors to its first location in the V.M. Ybor neighborhood of Tampa less than a year and a half ago, Black Radish Grocer has chosen St. Petersburg as home for its second location. The fully plant-based grocer will be setting up business next to the Historic Coney Island Sandwich Shop at 246 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North before the year’s end.
This spot will be about 50% bigger than the V.M. Ybor store, and the grocer plans to line every inch of the shelves with over 1,000 different vegan products. From chips and cookies to frozen burritos and artisan cheeses, the new location will be a one-stop shop for all your vegan cravings. Black Radish loves to support the community, so you’ll find small-batch vegan brands local to the Tampa and St. Petersburg areas, such as Oopsy Daisy Sweets Vinkies (yes … vegan Twinkies!), St. Pete Ferments’ small-batch sauerkraut and kimchi, and artisan breads from Gulf Coast Sourdough. But don’t worry, you’ll be able to find big brand staples like Impossible burger patties, So Delicious ice cream, and JUST Egg on the shelves as well.
Vegan Options in St. Petersburg, Florida
Black Radish also boasts a small deli with made-to-order meals, and the reputation of their sandwiches is already following them to St. Petersburg. The Havana Hunny is a crowd favorite and comes piled high with house-made hunny mustard, Tofurky ham, jackfruit, and Swiss cheese on local Faedo Family Bakery Cuban bread. The deli will be an integral part of the new spot, and to-go orders will be available as soon as they open. Cheers for more vegan options in St. Petersburg!
