Texas based vegan company, Crafty Counter, is set to launch the first whole food plant-based boiled egg which tastes like the real thing!

Vegan egg lovers, get egg-cited to welcome the first whole food vegan boiled egg!

Crafty Counter’s WunderEggs is a hard-boiled egg alternative that looks, tastes and feels like a traditional egg.

Although the revolutionary product is made from nuts, the vegan egg is free from soy, gluten, dairy, and of course, eggs.

Moreover, WunderEggs is set to hatch at the end of 2021 in the US.

Crafty Counter’s WunderEggs

Texas based Crafty Counter is on a mission to reintroduce family favourites with a focus on taste and nutrition.

WunderEggs was created out of an urgency to aid our broken food system which was exacerbated by the pandemic.

The egg-cellent product is made from a combination of almonds, cashews, coconut milk, turmeric extract and black salt.

In a statement, Found and CEO of Craft Counter, Hema Reddy, sharing: “My inspiration for WunderEggs really came during the initial weeks of the pandemic.

“I loved chicken eggs, as in I could eat them every day for breakfast. But breakfast had become layered with so many other considerations.”

Reddy explained that she had become aware of intense factory farming and the inhumane conditions hens live in to provide eggs.

When the pandemic hit, Hema decided enough was enough and it was time for a diet change.

Although WunderEggs is yet to launch, product testers have declared the new vegan product as egg-ceptional!

One reviewer announcing: ” I can’t tell you how amazing they tasted. I haven’t eaten an egg in 4 years and it was a crazy experience psychologically!”

Vegan egg innovation

Despite there has been a sharp rise in the development of vegan meat and dairy alternatives, vegan eggs have been harder to crack.

While scrambled egg has been easily replicated thanks to our dear friend tofu, traditional fried and boiled eggs are trickier.

Thankfully, a number of innovators like Gaz Oakley and OnlyEg have launched different plant-based eggs variety.

It’s clear to see that businesses are working hard to create egg-tastic (the last one, we promise) plant-based alternatives for us all to enjoy.
