Las Vegas â GRAMMYÂź stars can sprint toward eco-conscious and animal-friendly style, thanks to PETA: Ahead of âMusicâs Biggest NightÂź,â the presenters and performers, including reigning PETA Person of the Year Billie Eilish, will receive vibrant vegan running shoes from PETA Business Friend Newton Running. PETA representatives will be on site in the official GRAMMYÂź Gift Lounge to distribute the gifts in the lead-up to the ceremony.
âBy rocking vegan fashion and encouraging their fans to do the same, GRAMMYÂź stars can be kind to gentle cows and shrink their carbon footprints,â says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. âPETAâs gift will inspire musicâs biggest stars to top the charts for compassion to animals while staying on trend.â
The leather industry is one of the leading contributors to deforestation, pollution, and the climate catastrophe. In the U.S., many of the millions of cows and other animals who are killed for their skin endure the horrors of factory farmingâextreme crowding and deprivation as well as castration, branding, and tail-dockingâall without any painkillers. At slaughterhouses, animals are sometimes skinned while still conscious.
PETAâwhose motto reads, in part, that âanimals are not ours to wearââopposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
