Burton’s Biscuit Co. has just launched Maryland Vegan Cookies

Long-established biscuit producer, Burton’s Biscuit Co., is best known for their popular chocolate chip-filled Maryland cookies – but the wait is over! The brand has finally launched a vegan variant of its popular biscuit – Vegan Maryland Cookies.

The brand has said that it has released the vegan version to meet increasing shopper demand for mainstream vegan-friendly products – and we couldn’t be happier!

With a reported 40 per cent increase in people switching to veganism in the last year alone, Burton’s new vegan cookies certainly offer vegan consumers additional indulgence and excitement in their biscuit tin.

Same Great Taste

Launched into Home Bargains for just 65p, the Maryland Vegan Cookies are sure to be a hit with vegans who are looking for the same great taste as the classic Maryland Choc Chip Cookie, offering the same great value.

Burton’s Biscuit Co has removed whey powder, making them safe to consume not only by vegans, but also by consumers with a milk allergy.

Maryland Vegan Cookies

Alice Boardman, senior brand manager from Burton’s Biscuit Co said: “Consumers are looking for easy-to-find vegan products that are more exciting than a plain biscuit and are not commanding the premium price often associated with vegan friendly products.”

“Our new packs with clear front of pack messaging and green plant-based design will allow vegan shoppers to easily navigate the biscuit aisle to a suitable choice, without relying on the back of pack.”

“Maryland is synonymous with great tasting cookies and we’re not compromising on taste when it comes to our new Vegan Cookies. We’re proud to now be able to offer the same great taste of our choc chip cookies to vegan and flexitarian biscuit fans. We’re confident that the new vegan cookies will be a popular choice for anyone looking for an exciting vegan chocolate treat.”

Vegan Jammy Dodgers

Burton’s Biscuits’ iconic Jammie Dodgers were the first of their treats to become vegan-friendly after a recipe tweak in 2020. With the recent addition of Maryland Cookies, our vegan biscuit tins are looking sweet!

We look forward to more biscuit brands following in Burton’s steps to create vegan varieties of their popular treats, or even better – switch to using to entirely vegan ingredients in all their existing products.
