Veganism is often referred to as a lifestyle rather than a diet. While, yes, that can mean the way of eating is unrestricted when it comes to caloric intake, macro tracking, and other common elements of traditional “diets,” it also means that veganism applies to everyday life—beyond what you eat. From clothing and beauty products to furniture and car interiors, many vegans strive to purchase and use products that are cruelty-free and sustainable. To make cruelty-free living a bit more accessible in the clothing realm, H&M is launching a PETA-approved clothing line this November.
H&M’s Co-Exist Story
H&M’s Co-Exist Story is an animal-friendly clothing line that features garments for all people and styles. It’s the brand’s third installment to its Innovation Stories initiative, which launched earlier this year to highlight more sustainable materials, designs, and construction processes. The Co-Exist Story line includes sports wear, casual wear, formal wear, and everything in between for men, women, and children—all of which are approved by PETA.
Vegan Anorak Jackets, Faux Fur Coats, Rubber Boots, Puffer Shoes, and T-Shirts
Materials used in this new cruelty-free clothing collection range from wildflower-based down and vegetable oil-based leather to nylon made from ocean waste and natural, sustainable rubber. Using these innovative materials, H&M has created garments that people may otherwise have difficulty finding plant-based in addition to staple items. Vegan anorak jackets, faux fur coats, rubber boots, puffer shoes, and t-shirts are just a few of the pieces available for purchase. In addition to shoes and clothing, the Co-Exist Story line features two lipsticks and an eyeliner pack that are all approved by The Vegan Society.
