MOD Pizza Is Launching Vegan Italian Sausage at All Locations This Tuesday

When you don’t feel like cooking, ordering pizza is always the move! But it can sometimes be hard to find a mainstream pizza place with abundant (and filling) vegan options. In an effort to fill that void, MOD Pizza is launching vegan Italian sausage at all locations this Tuesday.

MOD Pizza’s New Vegan Italian Sausage

MOD Pizza’s new vegan Italian sausage was developed exclusively with the plant-based food brand Plantly. The meat alternative is made from non-GMO pea protein and seasoned with ingredients like fennel, oregano, and thyme to achieve a classic Italian sausage taste. Each serving contains 12g of protein without any artificial ingredients, fillers, sweeteners, preservatives, flavors, colorings, or soy. The crumbles are labeled as “gluten-friendly,” which means they don’t contain gluten, but cross-contamination may occur.

“We’ve spent the past two years methodically testing plant-based proteins and simply put, we found Plantly’s Italian plant-based sausage to be completely craveable and far superior in both taste and quality—and were immediately drawn to the real ingredient list. We’re excited to bring our customers a product that is not only delicious, but an easy swap or add, if they want to go meatless or simply have more flexible choices,” said Mark Shambura, Chief Marketing Officer of MOD Pizza.

Vegan Options at MOD Pizza

In addition to these new plant-based crumbles (which will be a permanent menu item), the vegan options at MOD Pizza include regular and gluten-friendly crust, dairy-free cheese, a plethora of sauces, and loads of veggies! The BBQ Sauce, Garlic Rub, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Red Sauce are the vegan sauce options. We’re guessing you already know the deal on the veggies, but they’re also plant-based. On the sweet side of the menu, MOD Pizza’s Cinnamon Strips are vegan when enjoyed with the strawberry or chocolate sauce, but be sure to ask for no cinnamon icing as it contains dairy.

Something we love about MOD Pizza’s setup is that every pizza is made to order. You can build your own pie or choose from their curated pizzas—like the Willow! The vegan rendition of this limited-edition pizza features the new plant-based Italian sausage on an extra virgin olive oil base with chopped garlic, dairy-free cheese, roasted red peppers, sliced mushrooms, fresh arugula, and a drizzle of romesco sauce.
