Jerrell’s Betr Brgr, a new Black-owned vegan burger joint, is slinging burgers in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan. Jerrell Obee, a native New Yorker, serial entrepreneur, and new dad, opened the eatery as a way to embrace a more healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle for his family as well as the surrounding community.

“I credit a lot of my work ethic to my father, who was a manager at Rockaway Animal Hospital. He lived a life full of joy, laughter, dance, and fun. Even as a proud Gemini, I owe my desire to care for my community and the people around me to my dad,” Obee told VegOut.

Jerrell’s Betr Brgr Menu Featuring Impossible Meat Patties

Jerrell’s Betr Brgr made its debut on August 13 and specializes in plant-based burgers with fresh toppings, loaded fries, vegan chili, and shakes. The menu features three different burger varieties made with Impossible Meat patties—the LIL ‘BETR (Impossible patty, vegan cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, pickles, and Jerrell’s special sauce), the O.G. BETR (2 Impossible patties, vegan cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, pickles, and Jerrell’s special sauce), and the SUPR BETR (Impossible patty, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, Jerrell’s special sauce, plus vegan bacon and jalapeños). Each burger can be accompanied by crispy waffle fries, loaded chili fries, or a hearty chili bowl.

In addition to savory bites, guests can also enjoy sweets such as Oat Shakes blended with Oatly oat milk, and vegan soft serve topped with sprinkles, waffles fries, cookie crumbles, or vegan bacon bits.
