Have you heard the scoop? After a months-long local saga of targeted discrimination and homophobia, plant-based co-op Main House Market has announced their move to Orlando’s Milk District! Joined by vegan favorites The Kind Cleaver, Vegan Scoops Orlando, and Retro Roast, Main House Market plans to bring its traveling vaudeville theater aesthetic to the former location of the critically acclaimed Dharma Southern Chick’n and Valhalla Bakery.

Main House Market Moves From Winter Garden to Orlando’s Milk District

Opening in May of 2021, Main House Market found itself in quite a precarious position on the eve of its second birthday. Local institutions bent on shooing away the LGBTQ+-friendly, kombucha-slinging cooperative almost got their way until a moment of fate allowed them to establish themselves in Orlando’s former Market on South building in the Milk District. The relocation allows Main House Market the freedom to host some of Orlando’s top up-and-coming plant-based vendors and continue providing inclusive programming, which became impossible in their previous location.

Main House Market Joined by The Kind Cleaver, Vegan Scoops Orlando, and Retro Roast

From the beginning, Main House Market has been best known for their locally brewed, chilled kombucha on-tap. At their new location, you will still be able to enjoy the likes of blood orange, spicy mango, hibiscus ginger, or any of their other 50+ rotating flavors of kombucha from local vendors.

Take it up a notch with a tantalizing kombucha float thanks to scoops brought to you by Vegan Scoops Orlando, which will reside on the premises. This sustainable vegan ice creamery on wheels will now be able to share milkshakes, sundaes, and hot plates with the community at its first brick-and-mortar location in Main House Market!

In the mood for something a bit more savory? You’re in luck. Main House Market will also be home to VegOut awards nominee The Kind Cleaver, a fully vegan sandwich shop slinging some of the best nostalgia-rich handhelds you’ve had in ages. Sink into their famous Rueben, served with house-made, seitan-based corned beef and kraut on a Cuban bun, accompanied by Voodoo Chips.

Finally, if you’re hoping to cap off your visit with a buzz, sip on a handcrafted caffeinated brew at Retro Roast. This psychedelic-themed coffee pop-up has graced many a vegan market with its cult-favorite Lavy Chai Lattes, Belgian Waffle Cold Brews, and Magical Moonlight Milk Teas.

Market on South Replaced by Main House Market

Main House Market will be moving into the Orlando vegan gem formerly known as Market on South, which previously held some of the city’s earliest vegan-friendly establishments, including Dharma Southern Chick’n and Valhalla Bakery. The exterior and interior are being entirely overhauled and refinished, bringing Main House Market’s traveling vaudeville theater aesthetic to the City Beautiful! The soft launch of Main House Market is currently slated for June 8.
