By monitoring over 200,000 tweets, Vegan in the Freezer has put together a map showing each state’s most popular vegan food brand. They typically made use of trends software with direct access to geotagged Twitter data.

The inquiry was based on geotagged Twitter data within the last month, tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases about vegan (or vegetarian) food brands. For instance, “Beyond Meat” #BeyondMeat, “Oatly”, #Oatly, “Impossible Food,” and so on.

One can observe on the map that Oatly is the most popular brand, “winning” 19 states. It also appears like there is a regional component at play, with Oatly taking most of the northeast and the states around Texas.

The state breakdown includes; Oatly – 19 states, MorningStar Farms – 9 states, Gardein – 8 states, Beyond Meat – 6 states, Impossible Foods – 3 states, Quorn – 2 states, Tofurky – 2 states and Eat Just (Just Egg) – 1 state.

Also, other popular brands like Violife were equally mentioned but did not win any states.

The vegan blog and recipe is expressly recognized for doing vegan and food-based trends maps every month.
