Tips & Tricks for Vegan Tiramisu

Soaking Cake

Soaking the cake in the coffee syrup is what give this recipe the traditional flavor of tiramisu. I like to use espresso to help give my cake a nice rich flavor.

Mixing Whipped Topping

I find that using a hand or stand mixer for mixing up the whipped topping ingredients will give you that ultra creamy texture you want. You can do it by hand, but it will take some work—and I recommend using a whisk if you go that route.

Make In Advance

This dessert is best made in advance. You have to allow the cake to cool first. Then once you get your layered dessert assembled, you will need to refrigerate it again. It’s a good idea to make this tiramisu a day early to ensure your dessert is fully set up.

Variations to Vegan Tiramisu

Strong Coffee

Instead of an espresso, just use some strongly brewed coffee. If your coffee isn’t strong enough, you will find it gets kind of hidden in the flavor of the cake and topping.

Pipe On The Topping

You can place your whipped topping in a piping bag, and pipe little dollops of cream all over the top of your cake. This extra piping can really elevate the look of your dessert!

Boozy Tiramisu

Consider adding some alcohol to your tiramisu. Just add the booze to the coffee syrup once it’s fully mixed. This will make your vegan tiramisu into an adult dessert. Brandy, Baileys, rum, and so many other alcohol options work great.
