From Euro Group For Animals

Pat Watt is an experienced and dynamic business leader with a successful track record of achievement as a Senior Executive and Board Member with leading organisations across multiple industries. He’s very much seeked a position where he could make an impact for animals and he’s definitely found it in the DSPCA!

The DSPCA (The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) helps over 2,500 animals each year and was established in 1840 to prevent cruelty to animals. It is Ireland’s largest and oldest animal welfare organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming sick, injured and cruelly treated animals.

The DSPCA works closely with agencies and local authorities to influence and strengthen the law on animal welfare in Ireland, carrying out operations with revenue customs offices to put an end to the cruel puppy farm trade.

Its education strategy for both kids and adults deserves particular attention since it impacts the lives of 150.000 people on an annual basis through many programmes and initiatives.

The DSPCA has a sustainable business model that is achieved through services such as a Pet Hotel, Doggy Day Care and Dog Training Academy with all profits generated contributing to the operating costs of the shelter.

The DSPCA has been a valuable member of Eurogroup for Animals for more than a decade and we hope for this to continue for many years to come and together keep making an impact for the best in the Irish and European animal welfare arena. Welcome on board Pat!
